Access to Fisherman ID and DBT benefits using NID

The Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Program, administered by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, uses the national ID (NID) as the primary identity credential to register fishermen and deliver cash benefits. Fishermen register using their NID to receive a Fisherman Card. The NID is verified through a demographic verification API provided by the Bangladesh Election Commission. Benefits are disbursed directly to the registered beneficiaries through NID-linked mobile financial services (MFS).
