Creation of a digital medical identity and access to health records using the national digital ID

Countries in the West and Central Africa region face inconsistencies with healthcare digitalization. People also do not have a digital medical identity. This causes treatment delays and proliferation/loss of physical medical documents.

The proposed use case will develop a mobile application that creates a unique digital medical identity for each patient. It stores medical records in a centralized place, and patients can securely access their medical history online.

Each patient’s medical identity is linked to their unique national digital ID. The linked medical records are accessible through a secure QR code. The system syncs electronic medical records regularly across healthcare facilities. It also enables data exchange between healthcare providers. Patients can control access to their medical information.
