Voting using a national digital ID
West African elections face serious challenges. Instances of fraud, such as multiple voting and ballot stuffing, remain common. Rural and disabled voters often face exclusion.
The use case proposes to integrate national identity cards, known as Carte Nationale d'Identité (CNI), and fingerprint biometrics for voter verification at digital polling stations. Each voter inserts the card for initial verification and then scans their fingerprints for confirmation. Once verified, the voter selects a candidate through a simple interface. The system encrypts each vote and stores it on a blockchain.
