Access to the patient's health records and digital prescriptions using the national digital ID

Malawi's healthcare system faces critical challenges such as prescription fraud, medication errors, and fragmented health records.

This use case proposes blockchain-powered prescription records. It gives real-time access to authorized users. The system links the digital IDs of patients and healthcare providers to their respective profiles.

Healthcare providers link each prescription to a verified patient profile through digital ID, which pharmacies can verify at the point of service. The system ensures prescriptions cannot be altered without detection. Privacy is preserved through permissioned access controls. The system is designed to scale across Malawi’s healthcare network as adoption grows.
