Access to a digital marketplace by farmers using a national digital ID

PNG farmers lack verified identities and rely on feature phones. Internet access remains limited and prevents farmers from using digital platforms to stay updated on market trends. Buyers also struggle to find trusted suppliers.

This proposed platform connects farmers and buyers through a secure system. Farmers register with SevisPass, which verifies identity and removes false listings. In low-connectivity areas, community agents collect farmer data offline and sync it once connectivity is restored. Buyers use the platform’s website or app to view structured produce data, which they can filter by location, crop, quantity, availability, and price.

Buyers contact farmers through SMS or phone calls. Payments go directly to the farmers’ bank accounts via SevisWallet.
