Access to a centralized medical database of patients using a national digital ID

PNG’s healthcare system relies on paper-based patient records. This leads to delays, repeated tests, and diagnostic errors due to loss and damage of these records.

The use case proposes a secure, cloud-based central repository. It stores patient medical histories, lab results, prescriptions, immunizations, and hospital visit records. Healthcare providers and patients access the system via SevisPass, which uses multifactor authentication. When a patient visits a facility, staff retrieve health data in real time after authentication. Patients can also view their records, test results, and appointments through the user portal. SevisDEx enables data exchange across facilities and ensures interoperability across PNG’s healthcare system.
