Access to verified digital education credentials using a national digital ID
Papua New Guinea faces challenges in verifying the authenticity of educational certificates. This prevents students from applying for scholarships in time and delays their entry into higher education. Paper-based systems cause lost transcripts, slow verification, and inconsistent national data.
This use case proposes a platform that establishes a lifelong digital education identity that links every student and teacher. Each student and teacher is verified through their SevisPass IDs throughout their educational journey. Students receive digital credentials that are instantly shareable with schools, scholarship boards, and employers. All educational verifications occur exclusively through SevisPass, replacing paper-based methods.
After graduation, verified educational records automatically link to a national employment hub, creating a transparent pathway from learning to employment. This integrated approach prevents fraud, ensures data accuracy, improves workforce readiness, and establishes PNG’s fully verified education-to-employment ecosystem.
