Access to the agriculture services platform using the national digital ID

Farmers across West Africa face climate shocks, low productivity, and weak access to markets and financial services. Smallholder farmers also lack trusted digital identities and reliable agricultural information. These issues limit access to subsidies, insurance, credit, and modern farming support. The use case proposes a digital agriculture platform linked to a secure national digital ID system. Each farmer creates a verified farmer profile, which provides them with access to the platform. The platform provides crop advice for farmers, weather alerts, subsidies, insurance, and microcredit services. Farmers can authenticate through biometrics or mobile-based verification, even in low-connectivity areas. The platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide localized advice based on crop type, farm location, and farming history. Farmers receive voice-based guidance in local languages on irrigation, planting, fertilizer use, and pest control. This platform also creates a verified farming profile that helps governments, cooperatives, and financial institutions deliver targeted services and reduce fraud.
