National digital identity-enabled agriculture service platform for small farmers
Smallholder farmers across Africa often lack access to subsidies, credit, insurance, and formal markets because they lack trusted identity records or verified farm data. This weakens financial inclusion and limits access to government support. Farmers also struggle to access timely weather updates, crop advisory services, and disease alerts. The proposed platform creates a verified digital farmer profile and connects it with their national digital ID. Farmers use digital ID-based authentication through OTP verification on mobile devices or through biometrics at local centers. The profile links identity data to farm records, such as land size, crop history, and location details. Government agencies, financial institutions, and cooperatives use the platform to verify eligibility for subsidies, loans, insurance, and market programs. AI-based tools provide crop advice, weather alerts, and support for disease detection. The platform supports local languages, offline access, and simple mobile interfaces to improve service delivery in rural communities.
