Bank account opening using NDID/ThaID

Thailand’s National Digital ID (NDID) platform enables in-person or remote e-KYC processes across banking, insurance, and lending sectors. Customers initiate onboarding through a bank or financial institution’s application and choose an identity provider, such as ThaID or a licensed bank app. Authentication is completed using multi-factor methods, including one-time password (OTP) or personal identification number (PIN) and face authentication. Identity is verified against the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) registry. On successful verification, verified details are shared with banks and insurance companies.
