Tax Filing using Singpass

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) operates the Singapore tax portal that offers various services to taxpayers. Taxpayers authenticate themselves through Singpass to access the portal. After successful authentication, taxpayers can submit returns, review tax assessments, manage payments, and receive official communication.

The MyInfo service enables taxpayers to pre-fill their details from verified government sources, which reduces errors and simplifies the process. As these services involve sensitive personal and financial information, strong authentication mechanisms are needed to prevent unauthorised access. Hence, two-factor authentication (2FA), including Singpass Face Verification, is mandatory to file taxes and access other selective services on the tax portal.
