Access to public service through Modern Ethiopia Service for Organised Benefits (MESOB) platform

In April 2025, the Modern Ethiopia Service for Organized Benefits (MESOB) was launched as an integrated one-stop shop for multiple government services. The pilot involved 12 federal government ministries that offered 41 public services in a paperless, fully digital format at the MESOB centers. During the pilot’s initial months, more than 12,000 users availed services at MESOB with a 90% satisfaction rate. In June 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh announced the nationwide rollout of MESOB.

MESOB functions as a single-stop public service delivery platform that enables citizens with Fayda digital IDs to access a wide range of services and reduces the need for them to physically visit institutions multiple times. Citizens can access services through the web portal, mobile application, or physical MESOB service centers for human assistance.

Currently, the program uses OTP-based authentication and QR code-based offline verification when the Fayda authentical service is inaccessible. Biometric authentication through face and fingerprint is planned for future implementation.
